Vol. 2, Issue 1                                      Newsletter                                            May 2007

This is my 2nd annual newsletter and thanks to you, I am now in my 7th year of business!  As always, I want to thank you for your patronage and your referrals.

Along with my new website www.photocreationsbydonna.com I am migrating to a New E-MAIL ADDRESSDonna_McNeil@photocreationsbydonna.com (Donna_McNeil).  Please add this to your address book.  I will overlap with my Comcast e-mail address until I complete this move.

On May 23, 2007from 2:30 – 8:00, I will be at The Music Café, the new hot spot in Damascus, for a Q&A with 2008 seniors.  Please stop by and bring your friends.

There are exciting changes for 2008 seniors.  With the possibilities of digital, creativity soars.  Although the high schools require a student have their yearbook portrait taken by the contracted photographer, selecting a private professional photographer allows you to schedule your portraits during your favorite season.

On March 30, along with many other local professionals I was at DamascusElementary School for Career Day.  In order to keep their attention, I set up lights and took portraits.  The kids loved it!

NEWBORN EXCLUSIVE $450:
Photographing a newborn in the first few weeks captures the unique beauty of life.  See website for more information.

FAMILY PORTRAITS:

Why do we put off getting a family portrait?  Even I have a hard time getting the whole family together.  What can you do?

1.  I offer customers the opportunity to have their family portraits taken on holidays.

2.  Moms, don’t hint around that you want a family portrait, your family members may not get the hint.  Scheduling a family portrait tells them you really want one.  Perhaps attributing it to Mother’s Day or mom’s birthday will force them to take it seriously.
3.  Cannot get the whole family together, take it anyway.  Or schedule 2 sessions and combine these portraits into a Portrait Collage.

LIGHTHOUSE LOVERS:  For those customers that love lighthouses as I do, I am compiling a list of lighthouses I have photographed.  In addition to custom sizes, these can be ordered in 8x10, 11x14, and 16x20.  I have photographed over 30 lighthouses in 6 states.  Check my website for a complete list!

FINE ART PRINTS,
HOLIDAY CARDS, NOTE CARDS, BOOKMARKS AND MORE!

Photographer’s Tip

If you want more detail in your image try taking the picture on an overcast day.
The key is lighting.  Our sun is our main light when photographing the outdoors.
The clouds are like a natural soft box.
